DIOCESAN ANGLICAN CURSILLO MOVEMENT MARKS 5TH ANNIVERSARY

Cursillo

Members of the Diocesan Cursillo movement came from different parts of the island to celebrate the 5th Anniversary of the Cursillo movement in Jamaica. The Celebration Mass and Grand ULTREA took place at St. Mary Parish Church on Saturday, August 29.

The Celebrant and Preacher for the Mass was Rev. Michael Elliott, Spiritual Director for the Diocesan Cursillo. There was recognition of those who played a critical role in the establishment of the Movement in this Diocese and presentations to these persons were made by Miss Sonia Reid, Lay Director. The Roman Catholic Church was also represented in the gathering. The special presentation, a characteristic of ULTREAS, was given by Mr Trevor Blake who traced the beginnings of the movement and the early membership. In keeping with practice he gave personal testimony of his own spiritual and physical challenges and his approach in serving others through this means.

Some seventy persons were present out of about two hundred Cursillistas around the island.
