July 9 & 23<\/strong>
\nEver since the Rt. Rev Howard Gregory, dressed as a \u201cBobo Dread,\u201d brought the curtains down on a fun-filled show in Kingston in 2013, there have been repeated calls for another Clergy in Concert<\/strong> performance.<\/p>\n

Clergy, and church workers from across the Diocese, as well as members of their family, will take to the stage once again, for what is expected to be another \u201csell-off\u201d event on Sunday, July 9<\/strong> at the Karl Hendrickson Auditorium at Jamaica College, starting at 4.00 p.m.<\/strong> A second concert will be staged on Sunday, July 23 at the Hollis Lynch Auditorium, Church of the Holy Trinity, in Westgate, Montego Bay.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Proceeds from both shows will benefit the Rebuilding Fund for the Clifton Boys\u2019 Home in Darliston, Westmoreland which was destroyed by fire early this year. Bishop Gregory, who is Chairman of the Concert Planning Committee, notes that: \u201cThe shows provide an opportunity to project another side of clergy and church workers, as we collaborate to raise funds for a vital area of the Church\u2019s ministry.\u201d       <\/p>\n

The Rev. Canon Calvin McIntyre and the Rev. Canon Hartley Perrin, both known for their humorous banter, will team up as Emcees at the concerts which will showcase the rich and varied talents of the Diocesan family as singers, actors, dancers and musicians.<\/p>\n

The Rev. Leslie Mowatt, Rector of the Church of St. Mary the Virgin, Molynes Road, is Programme Coordinator for the Concert, and leader of the backing band, Keys to the Kingdom.<\/em> <\/strong>A seasoned musician, Fr. Mowatt brings to this event years of experience in the entertainment industry; and under his guidance, rehearsals have been gaining momentum with the Bishops, clergy spouses and a Church House Chorale among the persons taking active part.    <\/p>\n

Dr. Elizabeth Thomas-Hope, who has mounted several successful dramatic productions for churches in the Diocese, has written two skits, which along with the Church Army Puppets are expected to bring another dimension to the programme. The Rev. Leroy Johnson, whose dub poetry is acclaimed wherever he performs, will also be among the featured acts.<\/p>\n

As on the previous occasions, Clergy in Concert <\/strong>promises quality entertainment for persons of all ages and tastes!<\/p>\n
