Cathedral Anglican Youth Fellowship
\nBeach Clean-up 1 Report<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n

At International Coastal Clean-up Day last year, through the National Environmental and Planning Agency (NEPA)<\/strong>, the Cathedral Anglican Youth Fellowship adopted the Old Harbour Bay Beach. We received a toolkit including garbage bags, gloves, hand sanitizer and mosquito repellent. Having adopted the beach, we are required to have a clean-up exercise at least twice per year.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Our first clean-up was done January 28, 2017, in partnership with St. Jago High School\u2019s Environmental Club, Key Club and First Jamaica Girl Guides; Old Harbour High School and the St. Dorothy\u2019s AYF.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

We arrived at the beach at 8:10 a.m., with 78 people registered to participate. The team worked until 10:30 a.m. collecting 60 bags of garbage consisting of assorted plastics, foam, glass, clothing and dried seaweed.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Lunch was provided by St. Phillips Church and the St. Dorothy\u2019s AYF both in Old Harbour.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The fellowship regards such activities with great importance as it falls under our Work\/Outreach tenet and is in keeping with the fifth Mark of Mission<\/a>. We encourage other church groups and churches to follow suit.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

We say a huge thank you to everyone who participated and supported our effort.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
