{"id":8001,"date":"2017-01-17T18:03:09","date_gmt":"2017-01-17T23:03:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.anglicandioceseja.org\/?p=8001"},"modified":"2017-01-17T18:10:20","modified_gmt":"2017-01-17T23:10:20","slug":"diocese-launches-clifton-boys-home-rebuilding-fund","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.anglicandioceseja.org\/copy\/diocese-launches-clifton-boys-home-rebuilding-fund\/","title":{"rendered":"Diocese Launches Clifton Boys\u2019 Home Rebuilding Fund"},"content":{"rendered":"<style type=\"text\/css\"><!--\n@page { margin: 2cm } \t\tP { margin-bottom: 0.21cm }\n--><\/style>\n<p><span style=\"color: #222222;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">In the wake of the fire that destroyed the Clifton Boys\u2019 Home in Darliston, Westmoreland last Sunday, January 15, the Diocese of Jamaica &amp; The Cayman Islands, which owns and operates the Home, has opened a Rebuilding Fund at the National Commercial Bank, Savanna-la-Mar Branch, 68 Great George Street.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #222222;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Donors are being invited to make contributions to<\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #222222;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b> The Clifton Boy\u2019s Home Rebuilding Fund, Account number 611098561.<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #222222;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"> Board Chairman, the Rev. Canon and Hon. Hartley Perrin, explained that a <\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #222222;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>Foreign Currency Account number 614525185<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #222222;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"> has also been established to facilitate donors across the Diaspora.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #222222;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">The cause of the fire which started just after\u00a04 O&#8217;clock\u00a0Sunday afternoon, is still unknown. Meanwhile, Canon Perrin said the 28 residents of the Home are being housed temporarily at the nearby St. John&#8217;s Church, where they worship regularly; and efforts are being made to identify more suitable accommodation.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #222222;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">The Board Chairman said \u201cWe are heartened by the support which we have received from the leadership and members of the Anglican Church, as well as the wider community. We also welcome the assistance of the Child Development Agency (CDA) under whose jurisdiction we operate, and which has been collaborating with us to meet the immediate needs of the boys.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #222222;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Located on 7 \u00bd acres of arable land, the Clifton Boys\u2019 Home, which began operation in 1960, is one of three Children\u2019s Homes managed by the Anglican Church in Jamaica.
