{"id":22159,"date":"2020-05-10T08:30:53","date_gmt":"2020-05-10T13:30:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.anglicandioceseja.org\/?p=22159"},"modified":"2020-05-11T09:18:11","modified_gmt":"2020-05-11T14:18:11","slug":"celebrating-exceptional-mothers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.anglicandioceseja.org\/copy\/celebrating-exceptional-mothers\/","title":{"rendered":"Celebrating Exceptional Mothers"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"313\" height=\"46\" src=\"http:\/\/www.anglicandioceseja.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/image.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-22160\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.anglicandioceseja.org\/copy\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/image.png 313w, https:\/\/www.anglicandioceseja.org\/copy\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/image-300x44.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 313px) 100vw, 313px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>At this time of uncertainty, when all the world is fearful and facing a crisis, it is good to pause and celebrate the mothers in our country who are doing exceptional work against great odds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We celebrate the <strong>mothers who are sanitation workers<\/strong>,\nkeeping hospitals, supermarkets and other public facilities clean and\nvirus-free.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We celebrate the <strong>mothers in the medical profession<\/strong> who\nare testing and treating those affected by COVID-19, leaving their own children\nto the care of others while doing so.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We celebrate the <strong>mothers in the<\/strong> <strong>security forces<\/strong> who work long hours to keep wayward and\nirresponsible people from putting themselves and others in harm\u2019s way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We celebrate the <strong>mothers who are<\/strong> <strong>teachers and those who have assumed this awesome role at home <\/strong>as\ntheyhelp our children to navigate\nthe unfamiliar territory of online learning, even when their own education may\nbe limited. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We celebrate the <strong>mothers who are<\/strong> <strong>farmers<\/strong> tilling the soil and growing food for their children and the\nnation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We celebrate the <strong>mothers who brave the crowds and sell in markets<\/strong>\nacross the island to ensure their children are fed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a time when it was\nnecessary to keep Hebrew sons from a certain death, Jochebed hid her baby in a\nbasket and set it in the reeds along the bank of the Nile. She later worked as\na nursemaid to her own son, Moses, when he was raised by Pharaoh\u2019s daughter in\nthe Egyptian palace. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Today, mothers at all\nlevels are making sacrifices for children in our society; and the Mothers\u2019\nUnion of Jamaica and the Cayman Islands celebrate you all on this Mothers\u2019 Day.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>We encourage you to take heart and do not fear because the Lord your God is by your side an ever present help in times of trouble.
