After a five-day meeting this week in Jakarta, Church leaders issued a communiqu\u00e9 warning that sexual exploitation, including child prostitution and child pornography\u201d was rife in countries such as Cambodia, Thailand, Sri Lanka, India, Nepal, Vietnam, Philippines, and Indonesia. They say that these countries \u201chave become a safe haven for paedophiles to avoid easy detection of their activities.\u201d The Church leaders are calling for an ecumenical regional network to uphold and protect the dignity and rights of children.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/JfK9km\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/goo.gl\/JfK9km&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1537888083206000&amp;usg=AFQjCNFceqG5ncbn_a1vrAXhs7A4gEcP7Q\">Click here<\/a> for more<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"m_-1374627436026219574ox-10e398b906-MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle\">\u00b7&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <strong>\u201cWe must create a new history of true peace\u201d \u2013 east Asian Anglicans pledge on Korean peace<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Leaders from Anglican Churches in east Asia have expressed repentance for not playing \u201ca proper role\u201d in the Korean conflict. The comment was made in a communiqu\u00e9 issued at the end of this year\u2019s meeting of the Council of the Church in East Asia (CCEA) \u2013 which brings together Anglican provinces from South East Asia, Myanmar, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, the Philippines and Taiwan \u2013 a diocese of the US-based Episcopal Church \u2013 together with the Anglican Church of Australia and the Philippine Independent Church. They had met at the Ganghwa Peace Observatory, which sits on the de-facto border between North and South Korea.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/kDi4SJ\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/goo.gl\/kDi4SJ&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1537888083206000&amp;usg=AFQjCNGmNMEBcEJsSH-4bbKdOkk-NRepqg\">Click here<\/a> for more<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"m_-1374627436026219574ox-10e398b906-MsoListParagraphCxSpLast\">\u00b7&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <strong>British and US clergy join leadership team at the Anglican Episcopal Diocese in Jerusalem<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Anglican \/ Episcopal Archbishop in Jerusalem, Suheil Dawani, has appointed a US-priest as his chaplain and a British priest as Dean of St George\u2019s College. Centred on the City of Jerusalem, the diocese attracts thousands of visitors each year as it is home to the birthplace of Christianity. It also serves Jordan, Palestine, Israel, Syria and Lebanon. Dr Donald Binder, currently Rector of Historic Pohic Church near Mount Vernon in Virginia, will become Archbishop Suheil\u2019s new chaplain; while the Revd Richard Sewell, currently Rector of the Barnes Team Ministry in South West London, will become Dean of St George\u2019s College.
