Dear Colleagues:<\/p>\n

I have been invited by the Archbishop of Canterbury<\/strong><\/a> to be the Co-Chair of a Meeting of the International Reformed-Anglican Dialogue scheduled to be held in Vancouver, Canada, from August 23-30, 2018. <\/span><\/p>\n

And what is this International Reformed-Anglican Dialogue<\/strong>?<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cAs part of its ecumenical vocation, the Anglican Communion engages in ecumenical conversation and dialogue with other Christian world communions. To this end, dialogues are set up under a mandate normally approved by the Anglican Consultative Council. Once the mandate is in place, the Archbishop of Canterbury and the Secretary General seek appropriate names around the Communion to appoint as Anglican members of the dialogue. The Archbishop of Canterbury appoints the Anglican Co-Chair after consultation with the Secretary General, and then Anglican members are appointed by the Secretary General after consultation with the Archbishop of Canterbury.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

While each member comes from a particular Anglican Church, bringing various perspectives and experiences, he or she does not serve as a delegate from that Church on the dialogue, but becomes part of the whole Anglican team which is called upon to represent the Anglican tradition faithfully, including its diversity.\u201d <\/span><\/em><\/p>\n
