{"id":13103,"date":"2018-05-01T13:14:00","date_gmt":"2018-05-01T18:14:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.anglicandioceseja.org\/?p=13103"},"modified":"2018-05-01T13:26:35","modified_gmt":"2018-05-01T18:26:35","slug":"13103","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.anglicandioceseja.org\/copy\/13103\/","title":{"rendered":"Bible Moment &#8211; God&#8217;s PROMISE"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Exodus 6<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/biblehub.com\/exodus\/6-5.htm\">5<\/a>Moreover, I have heard the groaning of the Israelites, whom the Egyptians are enslaving, and I have remembered my covenant.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/biblehub.com\/exodus\/6-10.htm\">10<\/a>Then the&nbsp;Lord&nbsp;said to Moses,&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/biblehub.com\/exodus\/6-11.htm\">11<\/a>\u201cGo, tell Pharaoh king of Egypt to let the Israelites go out of his country.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3>Take a Moment to Ponder<\/h3>\n<p>In a time when the prosperity gospel is very popular and in high demand we have to guard ourselves lest we lose sight of God\u2019s <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-13106\" src=\"http:\/\/www.anglicandioceseja.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/Clouds-Nature-Worship-Background-800x561.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"316\">PROMISE.&nbsp;&nbsp; A blessing is God\u2019s favour and protection.&nbsp;&nbsp; God has a plan for each of us and He blesses us accordingly as we journey together.&nbsp; In this journey we will have new experiences in God.&nbsp; As a result He knows when and how to bestow His favour and protection upon us.&nbsp; In the Exodus reading God positioned Joseph to journey to Egypt to preserve the life of His chosen people.&nbsp; Joseph\u2019s path to this position of privilege was not easy, but God poured out his blessing upon Him for this purpose to fulfill the PROMISE.&nbsp; He gave his family a timeline to stay in Egypt but they overstayed.<\/p>\n<p>Genesis 45:<\/p>\n<p><em><strong><sup>9&nbsp;<\/sup><\/strong>Hurry and go up to my father and say to him, \u2018Thus says your son Joseph, God has made me lord of all Egypt; come down to me, do not delay.&nbsp;.&nbsp;<strong><sup>11&nbsp;<\/sup><\/strong>I will provide for you there\u2014since there are five more years of famine to come\u2014so that you and your household, and all that you have, will not come to poverty.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>They should have stayed five years.&nbsp; They did not though.&nbsp; The feeling of being blessed over took them to the point where they let go of God\u2019s promise, left the promised land, overstayed and ended up spending many years.
