June 29, 2021, The Feast of Sts Peter and Paul
June 29 2021, the Feast of St Peter and St Paul will be a special day for five deacons in the Supplementary Ministry and four recent graduates of the United Theological College of the West Indies. This is because the deacons will be ordained to the priesthood while the former students will be ordained to the diaconate.
To be ordained as priests are:
- Rev Opal Beharie, St Paul’s Little London
- Rev Carol Haughton, Holy Trinity, Grange Hill
- Rev Teddy Blake, Gilnock, Santa Cruz
- Rev Claude Campbell, St Andrew Parish Church
- Rev Desland McKenzie, Cathedral, Spanish Town
To be ordained as deacons are:
- Miss Monnecia Duncan
- Mr. Bertram Gayle
- Mr. Kamar Prendergast
- Mr. Courtney Carridice
The ceremony will be held at 3 pm on June 29 and attendance will be by invitation only due to the current regulations in force under the Disaster Risk Management Act. The service however, will be streamed live and contact information will be provided at a later date. This will be the first ordination since 2019 as one was not held in 2020 as a result of the pandemic.
