Appointments

The following persons have been appointed Deanery Youth Coordinators effective the 6thinstant:

  • Trelawny:        Aunty Shanique Smith, Church of Saint Peter, Falmouth
  • Portland:          Uncle Sheldon Failey, Church of Saint Luke, Comfort Castle
  • St. Ann:           Aunty Joyce Headlam, Church of Saint Mark, Brown’s Town

National Council

The President of the 2018/19 National Council of the Anglican Youth Fellowship is Miss Christina Plunkett, a member of the Parish Church of Saint Mary.  Please pray for their growth and success.

Also, Miss Phillipa Williams, Advisor to the National Council is not well and has been admitted to the University Hospital of the West Indies undergoing treatment.  Miss Williams served as President of the Kingston Anglican Area Youth Council (2015-2016), and President of the National Council (2016-2017).  We ask that you uphold her and the family in your prayers.

Youth Ministry Consultation

The Division has scheduled a number of consultations at the regional and deanery levels to introduce the Strategic Plan for the Anglican Youth Commission in the Province.  These consultations are aimed at exploring the Strategic Plan with the view of adoption in light of the current thrust in Intentional Discipleship and the Five Marks of Mission.  The consultations scheduled to date are as follows:

Calendar – Youth Ministry Division

Following our meeting of Deanery Youth Coordinators and the National Council on the 21st April, the decision was made to amend the calendar.  Please note the following:

  1. Youth Worker Seminars, June 9 (Mandeville Region)
  2. Youth Worker Seminars, June 16 (Kingston & Montego Bay regions)
  3. Teen Discovery Weekend (A merger of I Believe! & Triple S), June 23
  4. Diocesan Summer Camps:
  5. Junior Camp, July 8-15
  6. Intermediate Camp, July 20-27
  7. Senior Camp, August 10-17
  8. Sports Day & Bible Quiz, August 18
  9. Talent Jamboree, September 22
  10. Youth Week, November 4-10
  11. Regional Youth Rally, November 10* (All regions)

The venues for these events will be announced in short order. 

Additionally, the decision was also taken that going forward Regional Youth Services will only be held in years marked for Diocesan Youth Rally.
