Dominica Appeal Launched

Dominica

The Archbishop of the West Indies, the Most Rev. Dr. John Holder, has launched an appeal throughout the CPWI for assistance to the storm-damaged island of Dominica.

Tropical storm Erika devastated Dominica two few weeks ago, causing damage estimated at millions of dollars and killing some 31 persons. Archbishop Holder has advised that two Anglican Churches were among those damaged.

Our Diocese is inviting congregations to contribute to the Appeal to assist our brothers and sisters in that island through a Special Collection to be taken on Sunday, September 27.  Contributions should be made payable to “Diocesan Church Fund – Dominica Appeal”.  Churches are requested to submit their contributions to Church House by October 9. This will enable our Diocese to make payment to the Bishop of the Diocese of the North Eastern Caribbean and Aruba, the Rt. Rev. Errol Brooks, at the Provincial Synod which meets in November.
