Provincial Commission on Mission Meets in Jamaica

A three-day meeting of the Provincial Commission on Mission, Renewal, Ecumenism and Interface began this afternoon (July 1) at the Hillcrest Diocesan Retreat Centre in Brown’s Town, St. Ann.  

 The meeting is being chaired by the Suffragan Bishop of Kingston, the Rt. Rev. Robert Thompson, and is being attended by representatives from all eight Dioceses of the Church in the Province of the West Indies (CPWI). The Commission, which is responsible for guiding the policy and the direction of the Province with respect to Mission and Evangelism in the Church, will review current initiatives and explore new approaches as members in the Province seek alternate responses in the face of the changing social environment in the Region. The deliberations will close on Thursday, July 3.

The eight Dioceses of the CPWI are: Barbados; Belize; Guyana; The Bahamas and The Turks and Caicos Islands; The North Eastern Caribbean and Aruba; Trinidad and Tobago; The Windward Islands; Jamaica and the Cayman Islands.
